Question Headlight Assembly

This is my first post, great site, I've been reading this forum for sometime now, lot's of good info.
My question is, what's the trick to remove the headlight assembly? I removed the three bolts and the little plastic screw, it's loose but I can't remove it from the fender, it seems to bind and it's not the wireing holding it.

I removed mine to install the Sylvania Silverstar lamps and had the same problem you speak of. Get a flashlight and look at the top of the lamp assembly. There are some small tabs that are catching on the metal fender above the headlamps. With a flashlight you should see the problem. Hope this helps...

I did mine today in like 15 min. Did them from underneth while on a creaper.
I have a 2x4 if that makes a difference. Maby the 4x4s have a splash pan or something in the way.

The headlight is still secured by "snaps". There are a couple of headed plastic pegs that snap into a hole. Anyways...just grap the headlight cluster and yank straight forward...it will pop out.

what cquestad said.

the first time i did mine i wondered the same thing. you just have to jerk the headlight out of the fender with a little force. it will make a loud pop when it comes out.

I got them removed and reinstalled in about 30 minutes, not bad for an old guy.
