had to take truck to the dealer today

I went to the dealer to get my seats look at ( sitting on frame rail, seam fraying badly on pasenger side). Service writer took pics of seats, odometer, pillar guages, and back of truck (dual exhaust???) . My question is why would he need all those pictures for a simple seat complaint?

He shouldn't! Thats a bunch of BS.. That stuff shouldn't have ANY bearing on the seat at all. Sounds like you need to find a new dealer. My dealer saw the mods to my truck last time it was in for warranty work, and didn't say a word.

Because he thinks that rapid acceleration caused you to pinch up and tear your seat

Guess the gauges and dual pipes are causing you to have your pants in a bunch and inapropriately wearing your seat covers?

I would have asked about the need to take pics of anyting other than the seats and the relevancy? Sounds like they feel than ANY aftermarket parts should cause concern for warranty considerations? Guess there must be some DC memo about pic taking? Of course, maybe this dealership has run into problems regarding THEIR acceptance of aftermarket stuff and warranty work, meaning that DC may have paid for stuff that was truly caused by owner abuse and aftermarket accessories, so now they cover their butt?

Who knows, it will be interesting to hear what comes out of this one.

Thumbs down Please keep us posted on this

This is getting to be a real big problem. I have air ride rear suspension & air seats. I was told by the service manager that as long as I didn't remove the springs, no problem with any warranty issues, now I'm begining to wonder.

groran, please let us know what you think of your Industrial Air Seat Suspensions. I am looking for a way to soften the ride in the passenger's seat (wife complains constantly). I was thinking of changing out the seats totally to new air ride seats if possible. Mine are getting weak already at 10K. Thanks.
