H2 wheels back from paint

Just got my wheels back from paint, I went with a glossy black to match my light bar, lights, steps, and tool box. So far only have 300 bucks in these rims, 250 for 5 wheels, and 50 bucks to powder coat them (I helped a friend deck his attic and put up christmas stuff so I got a steal on the paint job), and I ground out the hub with an angle grinder (somewhat time consuming but it was easy). All in all Im happy with they way they came out and cant wait to get them under my truck and post some pics of the truck. I have been wanting to do this swap for over a year and if it wasnt for this board I dont think I would have found them and even if I did find them I dont think I would have painted them black with out yall so THANKS.

Going to put them on this next weekend so I should have pics by next week.
Once again thank for all the help
JW

I was wondering about paint chips when the tires are mounted. Is that an issue with the powdercoat?

I had some R/T wheels powdercoated for my old Durango - tire mounting didn't chip the surface but I watched them like a hawk and provided lots of "input" as they (local Goodyear shop) installed the tires.

Discount tire mounted mine and I, too, watched them like a hawk. They were really careful with them and were excited to mount them. The guys working there love to see something "different" besides the old same ole ho hum factory wheel and tires. Makes their job a little more interesting I guess.

I found a local shop (Winchester, VA) that will PC H2 wheels for $50 each, including stripping them down of the OEM finish. I'm taking my set to them this weekend and will let you know how they turn out.

Man the weather here has sucked this week, started out with ice then snow then went back to ice and now rain, I havent even test fit the wheels to see if they fit after they got back from paint. I might do that tonight and take them to discount in the morning but as soon as I get them on Ill post up some pics. Im working on the old hummer hubcaps, I filled in the Hummer logo with bondo and sanded it down now it just needs to warm up so I can paint them to match.

I want a do this to mine so bad. I talked to a local shop and they wanted like $300 to do it. Thats more than 3.5 times what i paid for the wheels themselves.

Cool

Well yall talked me into it, I got up early this morning and went to discount to get them put on. After about an hour and BSing and watching the guys put the wheels on I saw the finished look. First thing I thought was NICE there finnaly on. I still have a couple of little things to do before they are finished like paint the hubcaps to match and eather paint or sharpie the wheel weight black(they had to mount them on the outside for the best balance) Well enough of me talking the only reason yall are here is to see pics so here are a couple of teaser shots, its been rainy for the past couple of days and the pics arent the best, once I get everything finished ill post so good ones.

The paint didnt chip at all when they mounted them, there might be a little around the lugs and the inside of the hub but I would think thats expected. All in all discount did a great job putting them on.
