yeah, it's definitely a touch screen. The main menu is easy to select exactly what you want to do with the unit. True, the navigation display is pretty sweet, and it changes based on how close to a turn/intersection you get (so I'm told, goes from Gods eye view to an "as you see it" kinda view)
Motored screens kinda make me nervious too though... (but it sure would be nice to have a good sized moving map display!)

Dumb question . . . how does it know if the car is parked to block viewing of DVDs while driving? What if the front passenger wants to watch a movie on a long haul? I promise I won't look - really . . .

There's a parking brake sensor on most of these things from what I understand. I was told not to worry about it, as it is very easily bypassed (if you're into that sort of thing, right?).

i would think that the unit itself could sense movement simply from the gps tracking. if this is the case, i'm guessing it would be pretty difficult to turn that particular safety feature off.

Yeah, well, the dude at the store said "Don't let that bother you...we can't disable that feature when we install it for legal reasons, but you could do it with a pair of pliers in 2 minutes." He made it very clear that it's easy to get around it if you wanted to. I know for a fact that other systems out there have a wire that taps into the parking brake light (switch) so that even on automatics you must have the brake on for the unit to work. If you're really that concerned with the ability to play DVD's while driving (have good insurance?), there's probably better systems out there (for a lot more money too) anyway. Other motives aside, my stance is that this is an extremely versatile unit which happens to have the best DVD-GPS navigation I've ever seen.

By the way, since the Ram has 5 speakers (1 center), DVD's play in 5.1 surround sound with a little tweaking (and assuming you have a sub, otherwise, 5.0). If only it played DVD Audio as well... More fuel to the fire...

It's for the driver's side passenger only . . . honestly officer, I was looking at the road all the time . . . well, almost . . . except when I was dialing on my cellphone to order some pizza . . .

Go to ebay and type in Dodge cd changer. Several will come up. Look for the ones that say plug and play. The adds will usually say what the changer fits. I mounted mine between the fold down storage panel and back of the cab. When you lift up the back seat you will see a space for it. Fits perfect.

I just checked ebay and found serveral for $139.00. Great deal
