Got new truck...bye bye '03 CTD :(
And Hello 2004 CTD
Traded the truck in my sig for a 2004 QC, LWB, 6SPD, 3.73, 2500, Laramie with heated seats---see link above....pretty much every option. Also had them throw in wheel well liners, molded mud flaps and chrome bug shield. Anyway, here's a little comparo between the 2 trucks:
Power: New one. HO vs/ SO 47re. No comparison, though the auto is faster from the get-go. I'll get better shifting w/ time. The HO is about midway between the SO and the SO w/ EZ power wise.
Ride: The '04. It's quite a bit softer of a ride. Might be because of the LWB, but I think the 3500 just rode rough. It's considerably better actually,
Other stuff: The leather and heated seats is very nice. It has the aluminum interior trim...
I love shifting the 6 spd. Got old after awhile in the Salt Lake City traffic, but it's not too bad.
The '04 is getting better fuel mileage so far. Around 18 mixed driving. That's pre the computer, but I feel it's accurate based on the fuel gauge.
Umm, got the same color as the old one too; wife wanted it that way.
I do miss the 3500 badge and the clearance lights. Now I gotta get that Line-X ($500) and tint again. Put the nerf bars, DPP 4", Ram Air 3 and the Edge EZ back on the new one. I got the 555 becasue I didn't want the unknowns of the 600, though I'm sure it'll be fine. I think I'll be able to pick up that extra 45 ft lbs somewhere

sweet truck, i'm just curious where you get the aftermarket stuff, chip, exhaust, etc... anyways looks nice, you'll have to let us know the difference when you start pulling stuff.

How much did you get bitten on the trade? Or did you sell the '03 privately? Just curious as to how the '03's are holding their value. I need another truck for work and bought a 6.0 Ford but refused delivery of it. I'd like to get a '03 that has under 50k and save some $$$$$. Thanks

Hey PADZZ....
Just curious what dealer you picked it up from in SLC? Was my Bro any help at all, or did they have any CTD left on the lot? Last I heard they were almost out ,

Rich, I ended up going with West Valley as they had the largerst selection and the truck/color we were looking for.
Yeah, I got bit on the trade because I traded in a 2001 Chevy for the '03 Dodge...so I was upside down twice. My monthly payment only went up $40 or so, so I didn't feel too bad about it.

The six shooters do take a while to get used to. My first 03 had it and after about 10K miles it was pretty smooth. Maybe I was a slow learner.
