Hey Derek - don't take any of this as us thinking that you're doing a bad thing - we all just want you to get the absolute best deal possible.
Your comments about just being out of college make me surmise that you're fairly young... I know how it is when you see something and realize that you can get it RIGHT NOW...
But.... As most of the replies here have stated, you could get a BRAND NEW one JUST THE WAY YOU WANT IT for probably a bit cheaper than what you're looking at right now.
We're not trying to discourage, we're trying to ENCOURAGE.
Good Luck !!!

EEEXXACTLY!! great way to put it. Why settle for a used 20k mile truck when you can get one brand new that you know how its been driven. usually used is a good way to go because prices are WAY lower..but not in the case of these trucks.

Yeah, let us help you!!! When I made my first vehicle purchase, I made some pretty big mistakes. I wish I was smart enough to post somewhere like here and find out what's really up. I got a "discount" on my new ram off the lot because it had pretty bad hail damage. Once I got onto the dodge forums I found out people were paying the same I paid for brand new undamage 4x4s and mine was 2wd.

here's a couple of sites to learn more about pricing.
go to www.edmunds.com. follow page for new car pricing - dodge 2500, SLT, quad, etc, etc. It will walk you through all options, with both MSRP and Invoice pricing. I picked option 2UT TRX4 which is about the most expensive option package. Including destination charge, MSRP is 41,850 Invoice is 36,926, less 3500 rebate = about 33,426. Most internet dealers are offering invoice pricing, less rebates, less 1/2 of holdback. 1/2 of holdback is not a huge amount. Then add back your state's sales tax, title, etc. Just as an example from ebay, see this dealer's web site http://www.stevewhitemotors.com/. (Hickory NC)
Go to ebay, and search there for numerous dealers selling on ebay.
Compare that to what the Texas guys are seeing.
you can email most dealers and ask for a price quote on a specific configuration which they may or may not have in stock, and ask for similar in stock trucks. Nothing wrong with buying used trucks, provided they are priced properly, meaning lowest possible new price (including rebate), minus 3000-4000 per year for each year of age. Good Luck.

well i made a deal
after seeing all this i guess it is not as quite as good as all of you
but for this part of the country and what i have found with my research i feel i didnt get a bad deal
going to be 31000, and with the loan being 4.99% i am feeling happy
i should be picking it up tuesday
then im sure i will have a bunch of questions of where to start with the little simple mods

3 weeks ago I was specing out an 06. I got prices in the 33500-34000 range for quad cab 4x4 SLT. Most prices were right at 10K off sticker.
While I was at it tho, stumbled on an 05 quad cab Larimie 4x4 loaded with 20k that I bought instead for 32. It had the nerf bars, bed cover, Line-X spray in liner and 7-70 warranty.
Reason I went with it instead of new, in my mind I got more truck with more warranty for a lot less money - especially considering the extras all ready on the truck.
The deal you quoted sounds way high compared to what I have seen.

If you can make it to Orlando, I know not the easiset thing for some. I was at carmax yesterday. Their trade thatthey were gonna give me stinks but their new peices are unbeatable. 2006 Laramie, 4x4 inferno red, CTD sticker was 47XXX, Their price 35XXX. its not on the carmax site yet, they have to finish a recall on it, the front blinkers, but if you want to see the sticker, you can go to dodge.com and 32925 is the zip, carmax inventory is about 4 down, you'll see their inventory. they also had a silver laramie, SLTs were starting at 30K...
