I bet if they used a name for the cummings you could sell even more Like cummins past you, or I mean if you think about it, what motor dosen't have a "power stroke" only a siezed up one
But I agree, that's why I love the cummins, it's reputation is all kinds of aplications. I know those izuzu motors are tough cause some of the people that drive them are crazy. What i get a kick out of, is all the big equipment, like you stated uses the motor to generate electricity, then they use electric motors to drive it. Wonder why they don't do tht with our trucks? You'd get rid of the drive train, shafts, this and that???

I've owned all three (like you 3 dmaxes, 02 great,03 recallx5, 04 crap). Get the 06 over an 05 The '06 48re is the strongest and is available with a exhaust brake from the dealer. The tranny can have od lockout and tow haul. The interior is more modern. Get the fully adjustable electric seats with seat heaters. I couldn't stand the GM seats and with these I have to force myself to stop. The ride will be harsher than GM unless you upgrade to Bilstein shocks. If the ride really is too harsh for you there are several companies that have air cushion seats that make it feel like a Caddy. Keep the air pressure at the pressures indicated on the door for the front and keep the rears properly inflated for the load. With the Gm's air pressure wasn't as big of an issue. The Dodge is the better truck and even though it is a 4speed auto....the Cummins torque will fill the gap. If you want the ultimate get an aftermarket "livestock" usage designed torque converter that will transfer all the power and not jar your body. The GM's use electronics to keep the shifts smooth. Dodge uses a loose TC although the '06 is the best stock ever. Get a TST box that advances timing and stretches duration.....it makes the triple injection events ....more efficient. If you want a downloader over a box...I'd lean towards a Diablo Predator. ks
