I use them for my race fuel vp 116, and it still took almost 15 minutes to get the last 3.5 gallons in because I had to wait for it to drain down, and I leave them in the heat with the vent popped open so they don't swell up..

yeah, you might be right on 26 gallons, but regardless if it's at or near 0 DTE and I've many times put 25 or more gallons in it then where is my 8% reserve?

I haven't filled the truck up lately since I sold it..

I have not had a problem in the year (read 2nd summer) since I completed the mod. Used to have to slow fill for ~4 gallons. Now I can slow fill for <1 gallon. I have also heard that some trucks do not have this issue.

hey drewallen42

quote:How do you think those plastic cans will do in the extreme az heat? I'm pulling a 32ft weekend warrior over fathers day weekend up north and the idea of sitting at a gas station with the toy hauler attached does not excite me at all!!

I ride in Az and 3 days out there puffed out all my cans and now the neck won't thread on properly without leaking..basically ruined them and my Power Service bottles.

Tomm...Thanks for the heads up, I know you were responding to the Arizona question but it helps answer for me too. I haven't experienced that yet, I'll have to watch the swelling on them or maybe only take them with me when I am going to get gas to be safe.

If you will go back and read my post a bit more carefully, you will read clearly where I say that I DID NOT get it to sputter. Even at 835 miles on a single tank fill-up. That was three years and some 60,000 miles ago, so I guess I didn't hurt my lift pump too much.

I did the vent tank mod as well and can get 39.7 gallons into my tank, without any waiting at the pump just fill it up and go.You will know if its full to the top,if you can see fuel at the top of the neck. I can, at every fill up without the click squeeze -click squeeze method.I also fill it full everytime, without wondering if I got it all in or is there an air pocket in there. As far as expansion goes,if its full into the neck and I get 15 miles to a gallon,it don't take long for it to use the little bit of fuel in the neck.
