Fuel Filter question
I bought my truck a couple weeks back, and I am doing a full blown maintenance on it (tranny, rear end, belt, wiper blades, coolant, fuel filter, etc.....) I have located the fuel filter, any secret tips I need to know about changing it, short cuts, suggestions, and the such???? Thanks.

I would drain the fuel before I took the top off just in case it had pressure built up an spewed out. Also I use a 3/4" drive ratchet to take mine off, I dont remember what size it calls for but if you had that socket in a 1/2" drive it would be easier.

OK thanks, that is what I am looking for. On my Ford, drain valve, open it, change filter, close valve, done. Once again, new to the Cummins, and need some help.....

I run wix just cause that is what my parts guy has and I dont have to pay for em, the company I work for does. If I had to pay for em I would prolly use fleetguard but you cant go wrong with any big name brand.

I just went over 11000 miles on my truck and I changed the fuel filter at 10000. Went to my dealer and "started" to purchase a filter from them. The cashier said it would be 42.00 and I told them they could keep it. Went on the web and bought Fleetguard filter for 10.00. (Just had to post something This is my first log in being a registered user!)
