front axle u-joints-how hard to replace?

front axle u-joints-how hard to replace?
i have a bad front axle u joint (obviously i am going to replace both) i just replaced my axle u-joints about 15,000 miles ago- but have never done axle u-joints. how hard is that job?? any tips? thanks.

I just changed mine... not too bad a job. Lots of tips if you do a search, especially with getting the hub assembly out. Be careful not to hurt your ABS sensor; I damaged mine somehow and have one on order to the tune of $60. You'll need a 1 3/4" socket i think for the spindle nut. Oh, and don't hurt the axle seals. I hear they are a pain in the posterior to replace!

I think my front U joints might need to be replaced. I've noticed a subtle but rapid vibration I've started to feel. It is only noticeable at times, usually when I'm turning or coming to a stop but isn't too often yet...I just had surgery Friday on both of my legs so haven't crawled under the truck yet but wanted to know what I should look for if its not the U joints.(Sorry for the hijack)
