I filled the tank on my new 2005 2WD Dually 6-speed today and I was pleased to say the least. I had topped the tank off up the neck* after bringing the truck home a couple of weeks ago and did the same today with 798.3 kilometres = 496.1 miles on the trip odometer. It took 108.569 liters = 23.86 Imperial or 28.68 U.S. gallons to fill it which calculates to an average mileage of 20.79 miles per Imp. gal or 17.29 miles per U.S. gal. The distance travelled was a mix of highway and city; probably about 50/50 with typical highway speeds of 55 to 65 mph. What really impressed me was the fact that the overhead comp. was reading 17.3 miles per U.S. gal (13.6 liters/100 kilometres). I wasn't expecting it to be dead on with the hand calculated numbers.

The truck has just over 900 kilometres (560 miles) on it now and is running like a clock. I'm looking forward to hooking it on to our trailer later this month and seeing how it will do with a load.

The accuracy of your computer is good to hear. I've got 220 miles on mine, picked up 5/2 (still have my gasser and have been driving that mostly since) and my computer is showing 17.9 right now. It started at 6 when I left the dealer 93 miles away and slowly climbed all the way home. What a great feeling. I have just under 3/4 of a tank left.
