Talking Finally!!!!!!!!! Its here!

Well I finally got my truck! You may recall I had the engine hesitation problem and posted it first on this website. The dealer agreed to reorder my truck. So I have waited 4 months to get a new one. And so far it appears to be worth the wait!

Truck arrived at dealer exactly when Insight said. It had 10 miles on it. Everything looks good so far. Truck doesn't have the hesistation and really has some major power. I got it up to 70 for a few minutes on the interstate and did not notice any vibrations. And what is really outstanding is the fuel mileage readout. Of course it only has around 90 miles on it but it is already average 16.7 mpg!!!! This includes interstate, city, country roads, etc. My old truck that I gave back never got above 14 mpg! And I put around 300 miles on it. So obviously DC has done something to the engine. The trucks are identical. Cummins 600 6 speed, 3.73, 4x4 3500 crew cab short bed. This new truck just seems to run better.

I am keeping my fingers crossed but so far the new truck is great!

Congrats on the new truck...I followed your ordeal while I was waiting for my 04.5. Mine was built 01/05 and then took 17 weeks to arrive. So far 4800 miles and she's running great (18.0-18.5 at 65 mph and still getting better) If I drop down to 60 I get a little over 19 mpg, not bad for a new automatic. Has anyone checked the build dates of the motors with the bad mileage. I only ask because mine was assembled the first week in Jan and have not had any problems (motor was flashed prior to purchase)
Anyway, congrats on the new rig!!!!!!!

Congrats on the truck and I'm glad to see that it's performance is much better than the other one. I've had mine for 5 weeks and have almost 6100 miles on her, with A LOT of towing and it's been great so far. I love this truck.

I hear ya man.

dwhite

I have followed your posts concerning fuel mileage. I feel for you. There has got to be something up with your engine. Or maybe the brakes are dragging.

It would be very intresting to see what kind of mileage an identical truck would get. I had that luxury and the difference so far is very noticeable. The mileage on the new truck is on par with a 2004.0 H.O. I drove. Actually may be a little better. It also was identical to my truck (drivetrain and body that is).

I am glad I got rid of my first truck. I knew as soon as it had that hesitation problem I didn't want it. Of course seeing only 13.8 on the MPG readout made me even more wary. I took a big hit because I lost the $2000.00 rebate but so far it is worth it. But of course keep in mind my truck only has 100 miles on it so I may be getting my cart in front of the horse! I better find some big blocks of wood to knock on!

I hope DC can help people get their trucks straightened out. A happy customer is a repeat customer.
