Fender Flare/Shock Question

I bought the flares on my truck used from a friend and no matter how hard i push in and how many screws I send through them they have anywhere from a centimeter gap to just under a half inch gap between them and the truck. Anybody do anything to seal these to the truck or have any other tips to get them on there tighter?

As for the shocks is it normal for a new set of shocks to squeak something terrible when I drive down the road? I can hear it when I drive up to my appartment (and the road is not exaclty smooth even though its paved) and the truck did not squeak like it did when I had the old shocks on the truck.

Thanks guys,
Alex

On the flares, mine came with some 3M rubber trim piece that wrapped around the flare to seal it where it meets the body. I got mine off of ebay. Without the rubber trim piece they had an small but irregular gap. With it they look perfect.

Never heard of squeaky shocks. Could it be your rubber end-bushings? Try spraying a little lubricant on each bushing and see if it goes away. Could be that they are loose at the end (loose bolt or just don't fit right) and the rubber is moving where it mounts to the truck.

Yeah something like that rubber 3M piece was kinda the lines I was thinking too. Just figured I would see if anybody else had messed with it. No use messing with it if it wouldnt work.

As for the shocks a "squeak" is probably the wrong word. Kinda a hard sound to describe but its diffinately different than before. Ill try spraying some lube and go from there.
Thanks
