Factory Mopar power steps?
I have a chance to buy a pair of 12" powered side steps. I was wondering if any one has them on their truck and what they think of them? They are a factory option but I am not sure if you have to drill the frame to install them. Thank you for any feedback!!

I just saw on Utimate 4X4 this past weekend about a set of Power Side steps. They worked really cool but I don't think they were from Mother Mopar. They did need to drill into the side of the cab a little and also needed to connect the connections to the door wiring. (Open door, they swung down, either front or rear doors made it work) Instructions were rather clear from what they said, even right down to what wire is what in the connector.
I know that my side bars went on without any drilling, just slid right into the factory holes. I do not have the power ones though.

I have a 4.5 quad cab with the power steps ,they are about 5 ft long and have no drilling into the frame. I do not know about the short ones but would think if they can mount the ones I got with out going into the frame they should be ablle to mount the short ones that way. I like mine one of the best options on the truck and are engeneered quite well .

If you are asking about the Kodiak "Sidewinder" step the answer is yes, you will need to drill. Here's a link to the installation instructions: http://www.kodiaksidewinder.com/Images/K6858802.pdf
And my advice? Stay away from those. The sensors are poop and will fail a whole lot quicker than you'd expect them to.

Mopar Options
Mopar rebadges Amp-Research's steps. Man, oh man, would I love a set of those. You can check them out here and you can find the installation instructions here. The people from the second link also seem to have the best prices around.
Hope that helps and send pictures when you get them installed.
