Excess dripping

Excess dripping
Hey all, question for ya. It seems that the tube that leaks out condensation when the you use the a/c is always dripping. It drips when I run the heater which I didnt think happened. It has been cold in the mornings but only th 40's so could there be a leak of some sort with the core? Hopefully I am explaining this right, I will get some a pic later to help explain.

The A/C compressor cycles when the defroster is in use. I was told that this happens so the compressor can cycle the freon (which contains lube) in turn keeping the seals in the system from drying out. I hope some of that made sense...lol.

The A/C cycles in order to dry the air (condenses the water out on the cold coils) before it gets heated and routed out the defrost vents. This hot dryer air helps clear windshield fogging much faster in cold weather.

If it was a leaky heater core, you'd notice it by the smell and fog in the cab long before you'd see the drip through the evaporator drain. If you are still in doubt, give the drips a little taste test. If it was antifreeze, it would have an obvious sweet taste. If it's condensation it will taste just like water.

I figured that was the case all, justed wanted to validate my thinking. I have had a core burst on me before, what a mess!! Thanks for all the imput everyone. I found it funny because I have never seen a vehicle have so much condensation.

Come up to western WA if you want to see condensation! Even western OR, which is about the same.
