Engine Light on
Ok, guys. My check engine light just came on. I did the Key/Trip trick and there are no P codes listed. Is there any other way to find out what is going on without a trip to the dealer? I'm leaving for vacation to FL on the 4th. I need to figure this out asap. Thanks Anthony

Three times, well I just screwed up. I thought it was only once. Mine is a 2006 3500 dually 4x4. I will go out and try the key three times. Thanks Anthony

Ok, I feel stupid. If I hold the trip button down and turn the key two clicks, I get the gauge light test. If I turn the key one click back and one click forward, two more times, I get the same thing. If I turn the key two click forward and back three times, I get the same thing. What am I missing? Thanks Anthony

just turn the key to the "on" position and back to "off" 3x and on the 3rd leave it "on"
you dont need to hold anything else just key on-key off 3x.....Should work fine?!?!?!?!
maybe I am not explaining it right???

ok, I see what I did. I did it to slow. If you do it three times fast, then the code comes up. I have a P2509 code which is ECM/PCM Power Input Signal Intermittent. Ideas?

No, I was at Costco's can came out and started the truck up. The check engine light then came on. The truck was running rough this morning but cleared up. I drove home with no problems. Anthony

WHEN MONITORED
Continuous - key on or key off.
SET CONDITION
Loss of voltage detected at the ECM for a calibrated amount of time.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
kinda sounds like the last possible cause=intermittent condition??

Check your battery connections. There may be one loose. I also found my ECM plugs loose when mine was delivered - allen wrench to tighten. Also, check all ground connections off the batteries.

Same P2509 code on my truck, took it to the dealer as it was still under warranty they told me they "Updated the controller Per TSB 18.001.07"
Not sure what the update was but there is a TSB for that code.
