Employee Pricing/July Rebates
#16
phloop - 4 years ago when i ordered my truck, i called dodge customer service and asked about rebates. they said as long as i had signed papers when i ordered the truck, i could get the rebates that were in effect then. when my truck arrived, there was an additional $500 holiday cash, so i didn't have to see if this was true.
i wrote down the date and name of the person i spoke with at dodge so if i had to fight it, i had it documented.

Was this a good price, same truck, except an 06, listed at 42,000, and I could get that for 34,000.
i went with the 05 because of the money i saved.

If you can buy a truck now at invoice or below, do it now.
If you can buy a truck now at invoice + 2%, wait for EP.
If you can buy a truck now at invoice + 1% and
the MSRP is $45,454 or below, buy now.
the MSRP is $45,455 or above, wait for EP.
Of course, we're only talking a few dollars either way at that detail.

5% fee (42,500 X 5%) = 2,125.00
Drive 600 miles the first 28 Days = $300.00
I like how they would base ANYTHING on MSRP. The market is crap, the trucks are "worth" about $10,000 less than what they are stickered at, really annoys me.

Not Bad, right around $2,500 plus or minus, barring any other fees or charges they can come up with to own a truck for less than 30 days.
Wonder what kind of deal you can get on a truck that has been used 29 days?

I would assume the taxes would be returned to you, as they would with any other product return, if not, add another $1,500 to the bill, (5% here).
The guy who takes back his truck is going to get smoked, that is for sure. The dealer is going to rape them for doc. prep. fees, temp tags, title work fees and who knows what else.
I can't really see this a much of a selling point.

Hopefully you'll never need it, but if you have any tranny issues, the 7/70 could save you some big $$$.
If you went with the 6 speed, you might have the NV and not the G56. If so, you're better off there, too.
#26
Not to hijack things, but I keep reading about how great the nv5600 is compared to the g56, and I keep wondering why that supposedly is. Is it the fact that parts are getting very hard to find and expensive for the nv5600, or is it the fact that they have iron cases and weigh 40,000 lbs? It certainly shouldn't be a strength issue-the g56 is being used by mercedes benz in far heavier trucks than ours, with no apparent trouble. The stock clutches hold approximately the same torque from what people with boxes on them are saying. I guess if you're just DYING to have a transmission that you can barely get parts for, the nv5600 would be the choice. Maybe it's the fact that the nv5600 has a taller overdrive-that's the only conceivable real world advantage I can think of.
