Employee Pricing/July Rebates

I heard that DC was going to be first to fire up the "Employee Pricing" this July. Does anybody know if/when that's happening or what the rebates will be doing July 1?

Right now I can do 1% under invoice minus the $3500 rebate and I'm guessing that would beat "Employee Price" and whatever piddly rebate that would go along with it (if any).

Any thoughts?

Best regards,

Not sure what the rebates are going to be, a dealer told me that the employee pricing will begin first week of July.

I have read where Chevy is thinking about a 72/0%. Wonder if Dodge will do the same... I have the truck picked out, just cant get the trade that I want. Laramie QC 4x4 with the CTD for 35500.

Real employee pricing is 5% under (I thought).
I used to work for a company that was a teir 1 vendor for Chrysler, back then (1999) we got 2% over invoice.

Where are you at? I am disussing this same topic right now.

Hi P.J.

I am up in the Seattle area. I thought about posting this on the end of your thread but I didn't want to hijack it.

I have a DC affiliate number which is 1% under invoice. There is at least one dealer I know of locally who is a little lower than that but most of them have those bs "market adjustments." I am fairly particular about the truck I want so it's nice to be able to the dealer whos got the truck I want. I don't want to spend the high $ for a Laramie (most around here msrp around $49k) but need the 6-speed with the adjustable pedals for the wife.

Regards,

I bought a leftover 05 1 week ago....listed for 42,000, i got it for 31,000 (still have to add the tax).

Was this a good price, same truck, except an 06, listed at 42,000, and I could get that for 34,000.

i went with the 05 because of the money i saved.

good deal?????

Sounds fair to me. I'm hoping to spend somewhere in the neighborhood of $31,750 (pre-tax) for an 06 QC STL. I might be crazy, time will tell.

I do know that a dealership I went to (yes looking for a new Dodge) had 0% for 60 months. We were told it probably wouldn't happen again so I started looking for another truck found one (98 12 CC SB) (bought it) and that next day on the radio they did it again 0% for 60 months.

My dealer told me today that the deal will be the EP pricing with a $1500 rebate. I will be going with the $3500 rebate that will expire Friday.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other? I wonder if there is an more discount really being offered then?

Employee pricing wasn't offered at the time I bought the new '06, but I got $1000 under invoice plus rebates from Dave Smith. Instead of the rebates, I actually took 0% for 60 months, but the rebate offered at the time was $3500. How far below invoice is employee pricing?

When I bought my current rig in 04, I got it for EP plus rebates. At that time EP was about 4% under invoice.

If EP is 4% under invoice and the rebate goes from $3500 to $1500 (down $2k), my "top of the head" calculations tell me that if you can purchase a truck now at invoice minus $3.5k rebate, you'd need to be buying a truck with an MSRP close to $50k to make it worth waiting for the EP deal. For us poor boys buying the $42k trucks, it's probably better to go ahead and buy now. (Keep in mind we're only talking a few hundred dollars either way when it's all said and done.) Perhaps if you can find a dealer willing to do an end of the month fire sale tomorrow, you better pull the trigger.

I'll come up with exact numbers over lunch and post a break even point. That is, don't take the above quickie analysis as fact.

From my experience, invoice seems to be pretty close to 88% of MSRP, right?

Regards.

Okay, I ran the numbers.

This analysis assumes that invoice is 88% of MSRP, EP is 4% under invoice, and the rebate will go to $1500 when EP kicks in.

If you can buy a truck now at invoice or below, do it now.

If you can buy a truck now at invoice + 2%, wait for EP.

If you can buy a truck now at invoice + 1% and

the MSRP is $45,454 or below, buy now.
the MSRP is $45,455 or above, wait for EP.

Of course, we're only talking a few dollars either way at that detail.

I did some fingering and found out that invoice is 88.94% below MSRP. Even with the EP pricing and the $1500 rebate, the $3500 rebate is a tad bit better. In my case my trucks MSRP is (sit down you tight wads) is $49480. Invoice is $44006. With the new deal I end up paying around $140 more than with the old deal.

I would go with the $3500 rebate but can not. I found out to day when I went in to sign the papers the truck has too show as delivered. Not in route, sitting somewhere on some siding waiting for UP to move the dang thing. So no matter what, I have to take the new EP pricing and the measley $1500 rebate as compared to the $3500 rebate.
