i used a plastic putty knife to get the emblems off, then used a 3M eraser wheel and a drill to remove the adhesive

20 lb test fishing line works good too. Definately use the 3M eraser wheel like Brett said. It makes the whole job easier.

youll can use the fishing line and heat gun, but im telling you i removed all of mine except the ram head on the tail gate and the cummins "C" and even waxed those places in about 25 mins.

so that means i removed:

2500 Ram
Lone Star Edition
SLT
4x4
Heavy Duty

Fishing line all the way. I screwed up my paint a bit trying to pry them off with a putty knife.

Do a search for debadging and you'll get even more tips. Hair dryer, fishing line, playdough putty knife (don't use this it might leave little scratches), polishing compound and then a wax job worked for me.

I couldn't find an eraser wheel around here. I found something similar, but it wasn't until after I was almost done.

Try an auto body store and get a pin strip eraser wheel a lot cheaper then napa. I only paid $12 and its worth its weight in gold comapared to just using goof off.

Another easy great trick.... WD-40 spray it on... Let it soak in... then use the fishing line or what not.

The WD eats the glue and doesn't harm your truck.

Have to admit... was told this trick by friends that have Body shops....

3m adhesive cleaner, some old cruddy fishing line 12lb test, a hair dryer and lots of rolling off glue with my thumb.

Make sure you use the adhesive cleaner to wipe down the large area around the badge several times.

You could do your truck in under an hour if you take your time.

There seems to be as many ways to debadge.... as there are badges!

Another vote for fishing line here, but,

Some things to consider when debadging are:

How long have they been on your rig?...a fresh 07/08 will be easier to get off than a crusty 03

What climate conditions have they been exposed to..and at what temp are you trying to remove them?

What color is your rig?....I can get away with more scuffs in white than a black rig could.

Generally, the less time the badges have been on, and the warmer it is, the easier to get off....
One exception is that you dont want to use any solvents to soften the glue in direct sunlight..

IMHO

I used fishing line and 3M adhesive remover. Took a lot longer than it should have and rubbed my thumbs raw trying to pick all of the adhesive off. If you can find the eraser wheel like everyone else suggested, go with that. I wish I could have found it before I did mine.

I used 30 lb mono fishing line (braided line will work too but wear gloves...IT WILL CUT YOU) After the badge came off I peeled off any left over black foam from the badge, then I used duct tape (yes duct tape) a few pieces about 4" long and just repeatedly stick and peel the tape to the adhesive residue, it will remove the residue without using chemicals or something to scrape on the paint. Then wax with whatever brand of wax you like. Took me about 35 mins to remove the Big Horn and SLT badges from my tailgate.
