I have a 2005 3500, what wire do you tap into for controlling guage lights with the dimmer switch?

On my 2004 I'm pretty sure I used the orange with brown stripe. Your wire colors might be different. If you have a test light probe until you find it. My manual says there are 2 OR/BR wires so if you find two wires coming out of the back of the headlight switch that are the same color then those are probably them. Use a test light or voltmeter to verify.

If you pull the panel that the headlight control is in you will find a modular plug with six wires on the back side. You want to t-tap into the orange wire with the brown stripe. It is pin number 2. If you pull the plug out of the socket the pins are number inside the socket.
