Check the vehicle certification label ,on the drivers side door frame, not on the build sheet.

Call the dealer and have them open the door and tell you what it says the build date was. If they wont for whatever reason, well that would tell me enough...

I believe the change is something in how the injectors are fired. I really dont know, but thats what I was told by TST and Van Aaken when I called asking about the PMCR and C5. Obviously VA is history now, and from the looks of it, TST isnt going to come out with anything.

Had I known about the differences, I woulda looked for an early 06, cause the dealer had plenty of 06s, and I KNEW I was going to put a TST on before I left the dealer, only to find out it didnt work on my truck; I had the third 07 in the area. Do I regret it? ABSOLUTELY....NOT!! Love my truck, and anymore, especially with Smarty, other than maybe an MP8, you really dont need to stack...

By the way, enjoy the new truck

I wonder, is it the build date of the truck or the motor?

The valve cover on the Cummins (on mine) says Date of Mfg :03-28-06 (which was a Tuesday BTW - better than a Friday or Monday!)

It has to be the motor not the body assembly. The ECM is part of the engine build.

Funny I have found it to be the other way around. The BDTD 2.4.D and 2.4.1 sofware love these trucks as well as the Smarty. It is a drag about the TST though. I made 501 hp on stock turbo, sticks, and CP3. Only mods I had were BDTD 2.4.D DR.P 2018, S&B CAI, lift pump, Tranny of course and Muffler.
