Duramax or Cummins?
I know somebody that thinks Chevy Duramaxes are downright better than Dodge Cummins'. Can you give me some backup to prove her wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

I6!
easy to work on!
I can actually see my motor in the engine bay, and not a bunch of junk!
Cummins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Connecting rods are alot bigger!
I can take my fuel filter off without climbing under the truck and reaching thru the wheel housing!
Did I mention the word Cummins.
Are the big rigs running V8 diesels?
My truck doesn't sound like crap with no muffler, durocraps have the horibble sound like a gasser with lung cancer.

i agree. you cant honestly expect a women to see things realistically and rational, not to mention try to change her mind when its made up. youd be better off trying to talk a cop out of giving you a ticket after going 50 mph over the speed limit then crashing your car into thier favorite donut shop

Dmax all the way j/k They are better then ford but dont come close to the cummins. Lets see 8 cylinders compared to 6. It should flat out stomp the cummins but it doesnt. Imagine a cummins with 2 more cylinders that would be scary.Plus its chevy. Let the women drive the chevys and us men will stick with our cummins.

As was already said..easier to work on. Easier to understand. I know,,,you shouldnt have to work on a new truck but it happens and anybody with one of the other trucks, if they are honest, will have to admit that the CTD is far easier and cheaper to keep running.

My mother told my wife her GMC had a Cummins in it. I almost fell on the floor!!! She wishes her Generically Made Cheby had a Cummins in it. Oh, and she didn't like the Cummins "shake" on shut down.

You only have to spend $5000.00 on a Duramax to lift it up to the height of a stock Cummins!!! That's the only beef I have, well maybe. Did I forget to mention the rattly 100% plastic interiors, wrappy redneck exhaust, goofy front ends, must I go on!!! Nah, seriously, the Duramax has come a long way to be a strong, reliable, quiet truck. I just would rather the sound of a inline 6 over a V8.
