I've had my 08 3500 Megacab for about 2 months now, 2300 miles. I love it but do have a couple questions. First, are any of you experiencing problems with your 6 speed auto shifting in 6th OD? I know the engine needs to come up to temp, but I have driven as far as 30 miles in 5th and still it doesn't shift. The only way I can get to 6th is to shift to neutral, let the rpms drop to idle and then shift back to drive..........then it shifts to 6th.

Another question....are the cruise control buttons suppose to light up when driving with the headlights on? I don't see any. My other vehicles in the past have had lighting on the steering wheel.

I have an appointment at the dealer for it's first service in a couple weeks and hope to be a little smarter then...........thanks for any help

 

My truck is actually the opposite. It will shift into 6th when I am doing 45 mph and lug it down to 1100 rpm. I end up shifting it into 5th so it will keep the rpms up to 1700 or so.

 

thook, that doesn't sound right on the transmission, I would definitely have it looked at!

I'm assuming the cruise is the same as on the wifes' Jeep('05), so no light in buttons, just a stupid green idiot light on dash when cruise is turned on. This light is on whether cruise is engaged or not. Days are getting longer up here, so haven't been out after dark to confirm.

 

My green idiot light only comes on when I turn on my cruise control.

 

I took my 2008 Megacab into the dealer to check why it wasn't shifting into 6th. Turns out there was a line pressure sensor bad on the transmission. Shitfs fine now. Also learned there are no lights on the steering wheel for the cruise control.
