Just made the deal for an 06 Mega Cab SLT 2wd with 23k miles for $29100. Pretty good deal????

Should I put my CAT. back on?

Back in July 07' I ripped out my stock exhaust and put in a Silverline SS turbo back system. I love it...when I jump on it......well, it will turn a few heads. LOL
The problem is I've been a nervous wreck since about a month after I put it on. Scared to death about getting pulled over. I heard that you can get arrested/truck impounded for not having the converter. I ditched the old system except for the CAT. Now I'm really leaning towards spending another $450 for another system this time with the CAT. installed.
My wife, three young kids and I are going to Disney World this July. We'll be driving from MI. to FL. It sure would ruin our trip to get half way there and a cop get me. Out of state plates and an illegal exhaust. I think I'd be screwed to say the least.
Anyway, as much as I love my exhaust, I just don't know if it's worth all the worrying?

One more thing....I work for Chrysler. Yesterday at the Detroit Auto Show Chrysler unveiled the 09 Ram, "Kick A--" you can see pics at Allpar.com.....anyway, Chrysler now will offer a true CREW cab. So there will be the standard, quad, and crew cabs available. It's rumored that they will now discontinue the Megacab. If I hear anymore confirming or denying this I will post again.

:sounds like a bad idea to scrap the Mega, might be better to kill the quad, and offer the long box as an option with the Mega, as well as offer it on the 4500/5500 c&c. Lots of new megas on the roads up here these days...Rodeo cowboys sure seem to love em!

No plugs, IMO you shouldn't worry about the cat. Just take it easy on your trip. If you get pulled over for speeding or something, I seriously doubt the cop is going to crawl under your truck to check if you have a cat. Have fun on your trip!!

Just food for thought, the cop would not have to crawl underneath to look. The exhaust smell is entirely different between the two...but then again, I am about ready to kennel my kitty again...
