Can I be #83?

Txfiremedic, I see you've got a Daystar leveling kit. I'm looking to level my 4x2 MegaCab, but I don't want to ruin the way it handles. How do you like the Daystar? Is it just the coil spring spacers? Have you noticed a different feel while driving on-road?

I'd also like to get some bigger tires, but keep my stock 17" rims. What's the biggest size tire that will fit a leveled MegaCab, with 17s? Will 315/70/17s fit?

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome!! You may be #83, add it to your sig. As far as the leveling kit, yes, mine are just coil spring spacers. I like it, doesn't change the way the truck handles at all. Im not for sure, but I believe you can run 315's on stock rims even without a leveling kit, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Again welcome to DTR Megacab Club!!!

and that brings me to my next question.....

Can this be done on my dually? Would i need wheel spacers? How much added height is gained by going to tires that size?

I am reeeeaaaal tempted to do something like that, however i wonder how it affects the way the truck will ride over bumpy freeways (we have a LOT of those here). Currently my stock 4x4 dually rides like a childs pogo stick when on bumpy uneven pavement at 50 mph +, and makes talking on a cell phone sound like a childhood prank
The cab shakes so bad at times, makes me nervous, and is no picnic for the drooling Mastiff riding in the back seat either

Would the added sidewall of the taller tire possibley soften the ride? Or no, because the tire wall and carcass is stiffer? Somebody 'splain that to me!

you shouldn't have any problems running 315's i have 35"12.50 procomp on mine w/ the stock rim, all i have is a leveling kit in the front and 2 inch spacers in the back that i got from arrowcraft. I havent had any rubbing issues at all so far either

Yes you can put the leveling kit on your dually. I would think bigger tires would help the ride somewhat, but not for sure. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

leveling kit differences?

so why are there so many different kinds and prices of leveling kits? I've seen from $79 spacer kits all the way to $229 for the exact same looking item?? Then some include shocks..and other thingy's too I am needing to put one of these kits on my truck, but not sure which one? I'd like to have a comfortable ride, so what do you recommend, and more importantly...why?

Thanks in advance

The $80 spacers work but I am going to replace mine with the 3" springs.. If you can do it I would do springs over the spacers any day.. I just got the spacers givent to me so I just had the time as a cost for me!!! Go to
topgunkustoms.com. Good prices and great people..

I've got the topguncustomz 2" spacers on my mega. So far, no problems. I bought them because they were inexpensive and not likely to fail like the polyurethane spacers. Bought mine off ebay. You can order direct from topguncustomz. Had them installed by a local shop. Turns out they use and recommend the same ones I purchased. Their price was double.

Could I have #84 ?

Just thought I would check in and say hello.

I picked up my truck last Saturday, and I can't figure out why I didn't do it sooner. This truck is awesome!

Roger
