Can one of you do me a HUGE favor?
I bought mine used and it has a lift on it. I am not sure of the amount of lift it is.

Can someone take measurements (on flat ground) from the ground to the top of the front and rear fenders please? I am looking for a stock 3500 4x4 Dually to compare (approximate) my lift. I want to start buying some parts for it, but need to know what is on it. Guessing, it is 6-8"

Any help is greatly appreciated.

What size tires are you running? That will also make a difference. Mine is a 2500 SRW stock height, but I can check if you want me to.

I am running the stock AM General 235/80/17's, sorry intended to include that in the original post. I believe there is a slight difference in the 2500 SRW and 3500 DRW, as far as height, from the factory. Thanks for the offer though, it is greatly appreciated.

I think you can cget all of the information you need from this site. This site list dimensions for all three body styles such as reg cab, Quad Cab, Mega Cab and single or dually trucks. Hope this heplps. http://www.dodge.com/bodybuilder/2008/intro.pdf

2008 Megacab Resistol Stretch

Looking for any ideas / input:
I have been watching the 24" stretch that is being done in Texas, Idaho and Utah - all thru the internet. The guy in Idaho is doing the cut over the axle and will sell the kit to do it at home. But, with a lot of research it seems the axle location is not the way to go. So, under the rear of the cab is the other location and looks pretty sound. I was going to have Kadell Suggs do it but going from San Diego to Ft Worth Texas and back is just not feasible.

So, I have decided to tackle it myself - only problem is that Suggs and the shop in Utah are no help plus no one is closer. I got a new long bed for $1k outright and have the steel sleeves. The drive shaft - I have 2 options: make the complete 2 piece shaft from scratch (approx $1200) or buy a Dodge 2 piece for a 06 megacab and then stretch the rear shaft. I need to fabricate the cross frame for the carrier bearing and the rear supports for the cab. And the 2 front supports for the bed then add 2" to the rear frame (plugs) for the bumper attachments. I do have a well equipped shop for rebuilding Helicopters and am very **** on mechanical procedures plus have some good local sources for the fabrication.
So any input would be appreciated and anyone interested in doing theirs feel free to let me know. Too bad Texas and Utah are so tight on helping out with some pre-fabricated parts - I can understand protecting their business but it is not business that they are losing - in fact - they maybe creating a competitor for no one I know is doing this on the West coast!

Hey Folks, been away for awhile working overseas and missing my rig!!!! Has anyone had issues plowing with a manvan yet? Rumors are out of control and I want facts. Will I have to put air bags under the front to help support the weight? and are there tranny mods suggested since the 48re is not exactly the strongest tranny out there. I had 28K on my truck and had to have it rebuilt because the 2nd range clutch fried. Thanks
