Drivers door lock problem

My drivers door lock will not unlock with the key fob or with the key and stays in the lock position. The door will open from the inside with the handle but will just relock as soon as the handle is released. Any ideas as to what this might be? I guess it could be the door lock actuator. All the other doors unlock fine.

Could someone have been trying to break into your truck. It sounds like the lock rod has been knocked off at the latch arm inside the door

I don't think so but I guess it is possible. I didn't see any signs of tampering with the lock mechanism though. So would the rod be laying in the door or just knocked off?

Your door lock switch will have to be replaced. Mine did the same thing and I got a new switch from the dealer for about $30.00 and replaced it.

Works great now.

Here is a link to a thread about this problem. Read "Stew130's" directions for installation. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...or+lock+switch

Had the same problem with my truck. Took it to the dealer and they fixed it with in 30 minutes. They told me that it had wore out.
