Question Door & Box Alignment

Noticed today for some odd reason that my box isn't mounted square. It sticks out about a half inch on the right side up front and is "recessed" about a half inch on the driver's side. Took it to the dealer's body shop and they said that's not too abnormal and it can be adjusted. Also brought to their attention the weatherstripping issue on the driver's door (passenger door is OK) and they are ordering another strip and said they'd "pull the door out a bit so it doesn't rub so close and also adjust the fender a bit to match the door."
Does this sound right? I've read where some dealers adjusted doors and am wondering if this is what they did....

I have not seen many (if any) boxes that are installed with correct alignment.

Had that problem on my '96. I haven't seen a Gen 3 yet out of wack like that '96 was. All the Gen 3's I've examined for those fit and finish details have been perfect to my eye.

door alignment

we just got an 05 and outside it looks like the doors are just perfect, but the drivers side catches the rubber molding at the point in front of the mirror. service writer says they have to send the door out to a body shop to get realigned,he also says this isn't the first and figures a recall is coming. don't know about you guys but i am gun shy about body work and especially not on one that is brand new.i mentioned that there are two more the same color and that i would rather switch doors but that didn't fly.

checked mine over and it "looks" perfect. bed and doors are where they should be. i had an S-10 one time that had that problem. also one side of the bed set up about 1" higher than the other. but that might have been because i rolled it over 2 times. (loooong story )
