Dont ever break your mirror

In a stuper backing down the driveway to hook up a trailer I smacked a tree with the drivers side mirror...breaking the whole assembly....$450 later I have a new one on...I almost cried when they told me the price...

$450 for one mirror? you got ripped. you can get brand new towing, heated power mirrors off of ebay for less that $200 a piece. believe me, i know. had to replace mine 2 days after I bought the truck.

Just buy the aftermarket kit part number 82207298 for $355.00 and then sell the side that you don't need on ebay and recoupe some of your money. Or for less than the price of one you can have an extra for the other side if you should happen to brake that one.

Does anyone know if the right and left side glass frames can be swapped or turn the glass frames 180? I don't like the corners the fisheye mirrors are in and would like to swap sides or flip them when I decide where I want the fisheye. Craig

I did what Travist said, you can buy a set from the Mopar accessory book cheaper than you can replace the one mirror buy ordering it as a single replacement from the parts book, same part #, go figure. Then you have a spare for the good side.

Hate it when my mirror gets shot off on a two week old truck, long story.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune!

C Schomer, I'm with you!! What brilliant engineer decided the top outside corner was the best place for the spot mirror?? If the spots were in the lower outside, you should be able to see your rear tires as well as still see your blind spot. So has anyone messed with the mirrors enough to know if the glass can be swapped?

Lots of good info, I'm wondering if ya all can us with this one. My uncle has an 03 and was backing out of the garage and caught the passenger mirror folding it forward. We pulled it back but for whatever reason it didn't snap back down into place so it's just kind of freewheelin'. There's about a 1/8 inch gap between the base and the arm vs the drivers side mirror.
Should we be shopping or is there a way to reseat it in the base?

Thanks, Tyler
