Yeah, if you only deflate to 25psi pulling your toyhauler on to the beach, then you'll have a nice camping spot about 50feet off the pavement . You won't need running boards to step out of your truck either.

It's better to air down to 10psi, then to wait till your stuck and then deflate more.

Now we know who reads the owners manual . Just kidding Carwash

Definitely air down. But if you do, be careful not to hit a big harsh bump. And keep the revs up in a lower gear so you have instant power. Sand is a major power hog and you have to keep moving if it gets too soft or steep. Sand is a blast but very hard on equipment and CTDs are so heavy in front.
A set of 315s down to about 10 to 15 PSI would get you to most places. Not too fast, not too slow.

What's with "don't air down"? I don't get it.

I set my tires to 18psi in the sand(ButterCup, Imperial Sand Dunes) and pull my buddies Ford every time. I tow a very heavy 5th wheel into the sand, so long as I keep moving Im fine. One stop and I've got to get the sand wet to start back up. Low tire pressure is crucial but you already know that...No hard turns or bumps and you will be fine!!!!

The bottom pic is from Delaware but all the other ones are from north of Corolla. Sounds like we were there the same week. We rented a place 10+ miles up the beach near the VA/NC border.

Wow, there are still some beach areas that you can drive a car on!!!! Those dont exist out here in the west, unless it's in the middle of the freakin desert. Thanks Sierra Club and all you **** Environmentalist...You know there is such a thing as compromises not just "my way or no way"...

Oh BTW yes I also air down to 18-20psi and pull an 11k toyhauler through the sand, 4lo of course..

Yup sounds like we were in the same spot. We had the 10mi drive also to get to our place.

Haven't made it to a delaware beach at all this year. Hopefully within the next few weeks I will.

Dodge is just in CYA mode. That's why they put that little statement in there. I bet the Jeep owners manual says the same thing.

Yes, now do a little calculating and figure out the % of the coastline that we are allowed to drive on. Not sure about the Oregon dunes but pismo is only about 5 miles long. Not very much considering the entire west coastline is probablly a couple of thousand miles.

BTW they are trying shut those places down as well....
