Or does it have to be cut out? I want to put a good size sub encloser under the seat.

i believe it is all part of the floor... spot welded in there...

JL makes a custom box equiped with 10 W-3's that fits under the seat with the cargo area

not without a plasma cutter! i was under there not too long ago, iirc it's all one piece attached to the floor.

Do a search on e-bay.

There are boxes for single and dual 10 and 12 inch subs on there all the time.

No need to start cutting up your truck.

you could also maybe make something that could work under the front center seat if you never use it... a single 10" should fit there?

I dealt w/ the same problem when planning my install. It does come out but takes some work. Another thing to consider is the seatbelt mounts. I ended up leaving it there and doing a fiberglass box inside the trays. You can fit some pretty big subs under there that way. Mine are Adire Brahmas and JUST fit w/ the right amount of airspace.

Id still love to cut that tray thing out though and build a nice ported enclosure under there. If you decide to do it keep us posted on how it turns out.

word to the wise, beware the quality of the $80 eBay boxes, i have one and it sounds awful with 2 sealed 10s and polyfill at anything over 100w of power to each of them. it's not made of MDF

the JL box might be worth the cash.
