Does speedo recalibration affect shift points?
I can't remember if it does or not. I may go back to 265s and I'm wondering if my trans would shift strangely if I didn't get the speedo recal done right away..

I called a local dealer and they told me that they can only program in "stock tire sizes", and not an arbitrary rotations-per-mile. Is this the case? If so, what "stock combo" works for 4.10s and 315s?

Try another dealer. They either dont know how, dont want to mess with it or dont want to do something that might upset Star.
It is a 5 minute job with the DRBIII tool connected. It is an option in the ABS section for "Pinion Factor".
My dealer did it for free in about 5 minutes.

Is it possible to purchase one of those DRBIII tools?
I have seen some that just tell you what the codes are ($90 or so) but some also allow resets of codes and maybe more? I'm not talking about spending $600 or so for the dealer types but more like $150 - $225 or so for a good one that will do possibly more then seeing the codes.
Would that allow the DIY guy to do some stuff by himself?
