Dodge Warranty

I am about to become the 3rd owner of a 2005 Ram with 59k miles. I think this truck was an early build 2005 model so probably has the plastic end intercooler. If it does have the plastice one, would replacement to an all metal intercooler be covered under the dodge warranty? Thanks

Probably not unless it has failed.

I as hoping that they had a TSB on this, as how I understand it, it's only a matter of time before it fails. Anybody have a guess how much it would cost to replace?

I have an '05 built in September of '04. I assume mine is plastic as well. I'm starting to get a weird vibration noise at low rpms when turning corners under light acceleration. I keep thinking it's the turbo, but now I wonder.

make sure u pay the b.s. $150 transfer fee, third owners of 05's are only covered for 5/100,000 engine only and no 7/70 powertrain coverage.

Just had my axle joints replaced today under warranty with the same junk joints they used before, but for $100 deductable, it was worth it to me to not have to curse for 4 hours.

The plastic intercooler, mine is still holding as well as many others. I think it is a roll of the dice if they last or not. If it fails prior to the warrenty ending, they will replace it for the deductable. If you don't want to wait, keep an eye on the classifieds for a replacement.
