Personally, if I had a choice I would get a truck that did not have a reciever hitch built in. The hitches that Dodge puts in these trucks is only rated to 6K lbs (or 10K if you use weight distribution bars). My 2004 did not have a factory reciever hitch, so I put a true Class V (meaning 12K lbs rating WITHOUT a weight distribution barsn 14K with them) for $200 installed. My 2006 came with a factory hitch. This hitch is welded to the frame which means if you need a higher rating you either have to cut it off or buy a 3rd party hitch that mounts below it (which looks kinda crappy to me). I didn't order my truck so I chose from what was on the lot.
I would consider it a plus that your truck came without the hitch. That way you can put a better after market hitch on it.

Just a follow up on my post. I went to dealer today with my build sheet showing tow group with 4 pin connector. I had paid for hitch and 7 pin connector. They refunded me cost of hitch and kept cost of 7 pin connector which is very fair I think. Also robbed jack pack out of another truck for me.( Feel bad for guy that buys that one).

Best aftermarket hitch is the superhitch, which adapts to the OEM hitch....
