Hydraulic is definitely the way to go if you plan on using it to pull on of these beats out of the mud. Hydraulic winches will run all day at their max load where as an electric winch may not even work up to its max load and is NOT designed to be used a lot. I have a Mile Marker 12K hydraulic winch on my H2 which, when fully loaded with people, gear, etc. tips the scales at a little over 9000lbs. and the winch will pull it out of ANYTHING.
Definitely go hydraulic, and go as big as you can. You never know when you will need the extra power.

Hey, you don't need to own a Lambo to buy the best of everything
In fact, NOT owning a Lambo will help you afford the best of everything!!!

i can tell you from experience...they need a winch if the truck even MIGHT see a dirt road in the rain. they get stuck easily. i managed to bury mine with my lift and tires to the frame and im pretty well versed in wheelin. another time i pulled off the road to let a truck pass and got stuck in the 1 foot ditch filled with water. the front end on them is soo heavy. i just got a 12k warn im puttin on mine so i can pull ppl out of the local mud hole without having to go in.
