I'm competemplating getting new tires for my 2005. I'm down to two choices. Dick Cepek FC II's , or Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's.. They are about the same price, anyone running these tires? Results? good, bad ? Currently running Toyo's 35x12.50x20's. Looking for quitier ride, better wear mileage.

currently running toyo's MT's 35x12.50x20 nice tire, however, have only 28,000 miles on tires, and will probably get to 30,000 before I will need to replace. One tire is wearing faster then the other three for some reason, despite rotating all of them every 5000 miles. Looking to try an all terrian tire, aka: dick cepek fc 11, or mickey thompson baja atz 35x13.50x20's E rated. Hoping to get more mileage with one of these? These are the only tires that will fit my application and rim. tread depth on the fc's are 22/32nd's and mt's 19/32nds. Toyo's 21/32nds. Thinking all terrains will be quieter, and with the tread pattern will provide better mileage??
Appreciate anyone with experience running either one of these tires for input.
thanks
P.S. I've tried BFG's however, I hate the little rocks that get stuck in the tread.

Im running the atz baja 285's. I like em but dont think i'll get the miliage out of them that i got out of the bfg 285 that i had prior. I figure around 30k and they will be done. They seem a little soft around sharp bends even at max psi. but other than that they ride great. they're a little noisier than the bfg's but the noise seems to be fading as the miles rack up. The one reason i would choose the atz's or the bfg atko over the other brands that make the 285, is the load range on the atz and bfg atko is 3195lbs. the same as the stock 10 plys that came on the truck. I do load this thing from time to time and didnt want any tire issues. They handle loads and trailers well. Another plus to the atz is they're a great looking tire.

I like my funcountry 2's. I have less than 10k miles on them but they seem to be wearing well. 2 balanced ok and the other two wen ta little heavy. On certain roads they follow the ruts and pick up the imperfections. Only happens on some of the roads though.

Guys thanks for the reply's...I was hopeful a little more positive responses regarding tire wear and mileage. I should get 30K from the Toyo's MT, however, I was told 40K would be sort of the norm for either the Dick Cepek's or Mickey Thompson? Maybe there is others out there that will help me get off the fence. My only other option would be to go back with Toyo's.
P.S. Madmatt, what kind of mileage did you get out of the FC's?? I notice your sig says you are running TOYO's any reason why you switched?

I just replaced my MT/R 305s with MT MTZs 315-70-17. I got 44K out of the MTZs and hope to get close to that with the MTZs. So far, I like the MTZs better. They are much quieter and the traction was great this weekend on some muddy trails. You can get the MTZs for $200 each plus mounting and balancing.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I just took off a set of fcII's, they had a little over 44000 miles on them. If I would have gotten an alignment after I put my leveling kit on I would have easily got 50 out of them. I put on the Mickey Thompson MTZ's this time only because my lease is up in 10 months and the MTZ's were alot cheaper.

Herberram I was running 35" tires. I have tried bfg at and mt and now the mickey MTZ's and the FCII' are my favorite tire so far. They do just about as well in the mud and are way better on snow and ice.

Right on..That's what I was hoping for...I still like the MIckey Thompson Baja ATZ's the best just because of looks. I talked to a MT factory rep./tech yesterday and felt he was quite honest. He said the Dick Cepek FC 11's and the new ATZ's were pretty close to equal. I should see approx. 40k+ on the Baja ATZ's and a little more for the FC's. He said the tries were designed for the 50k mileage range, and using a 20% driver ( correction factor) the 40k+ is very achievable.
