Come on guys..Give me a bone. The wait is going to kill me. Dont get me wrong, I now own a 2003 QC 4x4 2500 CTD, but I just ordered a 2005 3500 QC SRW 4x4 and need to know approx. how long I will have to wait until I get to see my new truck.

The wait is usually 6 to 8 months. But you might get lucky and get it in 22 weeks or so...

The dealers always tell you six to eight weeks. My 01.5 Gen II took six months. First the CTD engines were on restriction, then the six speed transmission and finally the leather for the interior. My present truck took twelve weeks from the time I ordered to show up at the dealer. I have seen where some have been lucky and received in four weeks, but in all reality you should expect between six to twelve weeks if no parts are on restriction (backordered). Chill! It will be worth the wait.

There is no dought that it will be worth the wait for I already own a 2003. When you say 6-12 weeks. Is that from when you ordered your truck or from when you received a VIN#? I had some help at DC and recieved my VIN# about 3-4 weeks early. (Its not what you know it's who you know)

I meant from the time your order was placed at the dealership. You can do a search on this forum for tracking an order for more details. You will find status codes listed and how to track if shipped by rail. You can call the DC customer service number for the status codes and also get the rail car number once it is shipped.

I ordered mine on Sept 10th and picked it up Halloween night. I think end of the month had something to do with it. It cleared customs that morning in Tampa and they said it would be at the dealer at 3m and I could pick it up at 6m and by darn they were right. Just turned 20,500 miles, great truck and getting better. Biketoberfest got underway today and all is well in Alamana.
