A little heat goes a long way! I worked at a body shot years ago and that was one of my jobs to debadge and I used a heat gun to soften the adhesive then some Prep-Sol wax and grease remover(the solvent used before painting)! Doesn't harm the paint! Good luck!

Anyone willing to let go of there removed badges? How about anyone in the NW Houston area? I'd like to put the C and 2500 badges back on.
Thanks,

I went to a paint store that sells mainly automotive finishes. They had the 3M ones and a cheaper brand one. 29 bux w/tax for the 3M one.

The best string I've found is nylon string like used in a chalk line. It's really tough and has a rough twisted surface for sawing. Take about 2 feet of it and wrap each end around a bolt to make a handle on each end with about 18 inches between them. Then just saw away and off come the badges. Use the 3M wheel carefully to remove the residue without over heating the surface. A plastic putty knife or finger nail helps a bit next. Wax it with a shop rag and rub a lot of wax on as you go. Be patient. It seems to disolve the dirt, etc and finally cleans the surface till you can't tell where the numbers were.

I also tried some 3M adhesive remover and it helped but it is also slow. The cloth rag is important and better than a paper towel

It takes a bit of work to make it perfect but it does get there. I love the clean look.

i finally did mine at work today. i tried the fishing line way and hated it, so i used a plastic putty knife to pull them off.

then i was using goof off and after 2 letters my hands were raw, so i went down the road to a body shop and asked them if i could buy a 3M wheel from them. instead he gave me his and a drill to use!! talk about a great guy and good business!! well it took about 15 mins to take off:

RAM 2500
LoneStar
4X4
HEAVY DUTY

i took the drill and wheel back and slid a 20 in the cord! now its time to wash and wax the old girl
