Yea, their mistake, but's it's like getting the wrong change back and not saying anything about it either. You both should have checked the paperwork better. And some poor s.o.b. lost his job over it...

Yes, you both screwed up and that "poor SOB" that lost his job did so due to his own incompetance! I wouldn't want someone that made that big of a mistake selling me a truck, the individual needs to find a new line of work!

No where near the same thing. If you get too much change back, usually you realize it at that moment. This guy didn't know there was an issue until the dealer called weeks after the fact. Again, if the salesguy was that incompetent, he needs to find another line of work or try harder next time! I get so sick of hearing people say "Oh the poor guy lost his job blah blah blah" If people would DO their jobs in the first place, they wouldn't get fired. think of it as a LIFE LESSON!

Nice truck Capt!

Wow! what a screw up on their part, I'm glad it worked out for you though. When I first seen your title thread, first thing that entered my mind was maybe he got some kind of experimental classified Area 51 truck that got something like 100 mpg or something. Enjoy your truck, it looks

same kinda deal happened to my buddy in FL. local tampa paper advertiesed an expedition, eddie bauer, 4x4, loaded for $22,500. they had a stock # and fin in the paper when he saw it. he went to the dealer first thing in the am before they opened and literally sat on the truck waiting for them to open up with cash in hand. When they got there they did all the paperwork, took his money and told him to come back in an hour or so after they made it ready for pick up. About 30 minutes later he gets a call from the sales manager saying that they made a mistake and sold him the wrong truck. He called BS and drove down there to figure out what they were talking about. Apparently they advertised the wrong truck in the picture and whoever did their add mixed up the picture with the price. He wasnt falling for that BS, he still had the article and all the paperwork was signed. Sales manager didnt want to let him leave with it and neither did the GM because typically this trucks sale price is about $37 and retails at about $45...... Fortunately my buddy at the time was a Capt of a yacht owned by a billionaire that had attorneys just sitting around waiting to do something. He called them up and he had his truck by noon. He put the truck in storage and left for a year on the yacht and came back to his pretty brand new, loaded to the gills truck.. big whoops on the dealerships side.

You got a steal of a deal.....sucks for them.....

Before they convince me they lost $8000. As another poster requested, what was MSRP and your price??

Normally someone approves the salesman agreements, that much of a discount would have caught someones attention. Unless you didn't get it below their cost!!!

I did read your other comment per another dealer, that doesn't still change my thoughs about this sale. The demand is considerabily higher for the 07s and to some dealer a few thousand below MSRP is a good deal.

Anyways, glad it went well for you and your happy, thats the most important thing.
