Dealership Says" They sold me the wrong Truck"

You know, I was just thinking,if you financed this thing, that paper work is all messed up as well. And how do you make payments on a truck, you technically don't own,Nor does the bank. This is a mess, just tell them to come and get it. That will have them thinking.Or tell them that you will charge ,oh say, $8000.00 for your time and fuel ,2 plane trips, add ons, inconveinance and such, and your on your way back with it.I have to say I don't konw you or your personallity, myself, I'm a push over, but don't give them an inch, let them pay you for everything you have invested in this feasco and tell them to come get it.And buy yourself a different one.The more I think about this, its unreal.

I wouldn't be too quick to call it an "error" on their part. I posted here a while back about a similar experience w/ a Colorado *******. Long story short, went in (I live in NM) to the dlr, told them what kind of truck I wanted. They had one in their "storage lot" offsite. Had the Vin# and options sheet in front of me. Made a deal on it, signed the paperwork, gave them $1000 down on my credit card and went to the bank to get a check for the balance of the $ while they took "an hour to go get it and wash it."
End of the day, no blk Mega Laramie anywhere to be found, got my $1000 refunded, tore up the contract (wrote VOID w/ explanation and signed all copies). THEN, they found a truck, different color, but acceptable to me. Brought the truck from another dealer. I went in to sign on the new truck and they wanted more $ than originally agreed to. Told them to FO and left w/ a $40k check in my hand, driving my old truck.

Guys, let me say thanks for all the words of encouragement, the dealership has agreed to eat their mistake, and are overnight expressing me the correct paperwork. They had to get the o.k. from the bank to just change the Vin#'s on the paperwork, or see if they had to pay off the truck first and redo all the paperwork, finacing ect...The only problem I've got now is my 30 day tag expired yesterday, and my new one is not due here until tomorrow I'm told.
All the hassle has been well worth it, for what I'm getting a 07 3500 laramie 4x4 Mega Cab for. A local dealer told me, if in fact I can get the truck for what I told him I was getting it for, I should buy two, because he couldn't come close to touching one for that price. I assume when we originally agreed upon a price, the salesman accepted my offer thinking I was talking about a SLT. Or at least his manager did, but AT NO TIME did SLT ever leave my mouth, because I was adamant about buying a truck with leather seats and my ONLY reason for shopping out of state for this truck. I honestly don't know how the mistake happened because they e-mailed me pics. of the Laramie I presently own before our agreement, plus the MSRP data sheet on it. All I know is, I saved much more than the difference between a SLT and a Laramie. and as mentioned before, I absolutely love this Cummins. The 7.3 powerstroke I just had totaled last month in a wreck was nice, but this diesel is awesome. I cant wait to hook up to my 5 horse trailer and see the difference. Again, thanks to all that gave great advice and encouragment, it was truly appreciated.

Nice truck. I'm glad the dealership finally took a look at the situation and decided to do the right thing, even if it did cost them money.
I suppose the only other fair thing they could have offered would have been to deliver you the correct truck, and switch the hitch over on their dime.
Then they would be left with a used truck with a hole in the bed, an unhappy customer, and they would have had to pay someone to drive there and back...
Anyhow, glad it worked out, and welcome to DTR.
