I dont like the cheep looking "wood" on mine either and wanted to swap it out with something differant. What's the 08 ones look like? I dont want anything fancy or shiney, just basic black or something simple.

Cause I got the new one that is brand spankin new for 80 shipped to me. Plus I had a few scratches in it as well

Funny.... Mine was the same way, when I tore it down the first time, it didnt have the screws, but had the place for them, not sure if they were forgotten or not installed from the factory. Either way they are no longer there. Did the same thing on my '06 (they were in there) and left them out with no issues.
