Cup holders for the MC?

Cup holders for the MC?
I just bought (well in April) an 07.5 MC DRW with the 6 speed auto and with 10K miles today I love the truck but the cup holders with the bench front seats are a very bad design. They have plenty of room for 4 large or 2 large and 2 small cup holders but instead put 1 large and 1 very small holder. Has anyone noticed this at least my 04.5 has adj arms to secure the drinks now if my wife and I have large drinks one of us has to hold it in our lap. And the back seat also has very small holders as well you would think with all the room in the MC's that they have planned that much better. Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks

Geno's Garage has an add on cupholder device that hooks on to the front part of the fold down console...it adds 2 holes, 4" I think. It's about $35. I've got one on way for mine. I got the two adjustable ones in the fold out due to the fact that all the late build 07's got electronic transfer case control.

Thanks for the help, 6.7 OneTon you said that you have the fold down cup holders like in the 04 & 05 trucks. My megacab has 3 holders and they are not adj and I'm wondering why yours came with the adj fold down holders? Thanks again

6.7L OneTon has a Quad Cab. The fold down cup holder are not available in the Megacab.

Seems to me that since the dash components are interchangable and the 6.7L 1-ton trucks also have the electronic 4x4, you could probably get the interior/dash parts and swap them. I'd LOVE to have the part numbers for them, even if they required a little mod due to the A/C plenum in the Mega.
I bought the Geno's Cup Smoothie, but as stated above, it is really an ugly color. I have thought of painting it to at least match the interior or the exterior color of my truck, but I am not sure about painting the plastic, may need a special prep or primer. Any suggestions about that would be appreciated.
I wish there were a good console manufacturer, that KIDS seat in the middle would bite it REAL FAST !!!!

Thanks for the info workin. I have a can of the Dodge interior paint to match my dash, will give it a try. I have the 6-speed and it gets a little close to the stick, but anything is better than that floor thing cover for the a/c plenum. Even if you try to use the two cupholders that parallel the seat, the stick hits them and they are a pain to get out around it. If I did not know better I'd call that stock cupholder one of those old 'Ford better ideas'. Maybe an X engineer from Ford works for DC and designed the stupid thing. or none of the DC engineers drive trucks or drink while they drive.

I'm thinking about removing the center section of the seat in my Quad cab and buying an aftermarket unit to put in it's place. I haven't researched it yet but I can tell you that if it's available I'm going to find one with lots of storage, power outlets, good cup holders, and a built in refrigerator.... I hope I'm not expecting too much....
These cupholders suck! I didn't think the Geno's cupholder would work with the manual trans because the shifter would hit it?!?! Is that not true???

Can someone with a stick post a picture? I could be way wrong but there doesn't seem to be much, if any, room between my seat and the console for this. If it actually overhangs the original console it seems like it would be up too high to latch as describe in the ad.

This may not help you much, but after installing the smoothie cup holders, the jake brake switch on the shifter would hit the cup holder when going into 6th gear. I installed a HotBox subwoofer enclosure, which raised the center seat up about 3". After doing this, I couldn't even get the transmission into 2nd, 4th, or 6th.
So, things came apart again! I removed the shifter, heated it red hot with a torch, and bent it to my liking. Because I put a "dogleg" bend in it, it was way too short. I welded in a short piece of 5/8" round stock, and I think it came out about perfect.
The whole shift pattern stays within the "cut-out" of the smoothie cup holder, and it is in a very comfortable location to shift.
