Cummins signed deal with Dodge

I agree 100%. Thats why I drive a dodge. Look at the rigs, and tractors that get WORKED. Almost 100% of the time I-6 motors. I was driving to a buddies house tonight, and I was turning about 1200rpm. I hit a hill, and I still have 1k lbs of weights in the bed fronm the truck pull last weekend. The boost gauge was at about 10psi when I hit the hill, and I was turnin about 1200rpm. I rolled into the throttle hard, the boost jumped right up to 30psi, and it set me back in the seat all at 1200rpm, and was pulling HARD. Find me a V-8 to do that. All of em I ever saw were pretty gutless till 2k or so. I drove a Ford with a superchips, and it was a joke under 2k rpm's. I-6 till I die

Some things are just inherantly better. An inline 6 is, somehow thru it's design, better than a V8....More balanced, more torque... Just like a 300WinMag is very accurate by it's very nature... Some designs are timeless and will always work very well...

i dont get how most of you bash ford and chevy v-8 diesels but when you hear cummins may possibly put one out for 1/2 tons you all go ga-gah.... Inline 6 is the only type of diesel i will have.. PERIOD!

More info on the new engines:
The concept for this product is the result of a nine-year partnership between Cummins and the US Department of Energy that has been developing an engine family with a 4.2-liter V6 and a 5.6-liter diesel V8 that will meet EPA Tier 2 and CARB LEV 2 emissions standards.
