"This is an exciting program," Solso said. "We will be manufacturing a great new product that will increase fuel efficiency by 30 percent or more

Best news I've herad in a long time! I have seen the specs on these engine's, one being a V6 and the other a V8 if and they make good power, and should do much better than the gas hogs as far as fuel economy goes. I think a Ram 1500 with that small V8 cummins would be an awesome machine for a lot of the guys out there who don't tow super heavy but are looking for more torque and better economy and longevity than a gas engine. The specs I saw on that V8 a year or so ago were around 250hp and 460ft.lbs or so if I recall correctly, or right in that neiborhood.

I doubt under 30k. They are not planning on putting them in till 2010. Plus the cost of deisels are going up on 1-01-07 because of the increased emissions. So even the small diesel could carry an option price of 5k or more. So base price on an slt 4x4 quad would be 26k or so. Then add in a diesel. You are at 31-32k. Keep in mind the prices of today are going up about 2k come the first of the year. So the 34k slt CTD is soon to be a thing of the past.

No such critter made with a CTD. There were some 150 Rams made back in the late 70's or early 80's with a little mitsubishi diesel in them, they are rare, but you'll see one once in awhile.

My friend said he looked long and hard for a 1500 diesel and jumped on this one when he found it. Paid $20,000 for it back then.
This was definitely not a 150 model. Could have been an engine swap too.
