I just put a set of leather seats out of an 08 into my 06. Honestly, the cloth seats were quite a bit more comfortable. I just like leather and a lot easier to clean with the dog.

The leather seats in the '06 are garbage too. I just spent $450 getting the drivers seat in my new to me '06 with 59k miles redone. It was trashed. I ordered new mopar factory seat cover, factory foam, and had a seat shop reinforce everything and install it and sew in a new side bolster on the back cushion.
I cannot believe how a seat can be so poorly made but it really is poorly made. There are sharp steel edges right up against the outer cover material, the foam block has unsupported sections and deep grooves and sits on wires that cut it in half and on and on.
BTW the factory replacement seat panels do not exactly match the original material either. The grain in the imitation leather vinyl is different than original...
So now for the last 4 months of ownership I have been carefully getting in and out using the step bars and hand hold to support and keep all weight off the side bolster on the lower cushion.
Guess what, now the hand hold is loose from using it and it does not tighten down correctly and will probably need replaced.
It's a sad day when a 220lb person cannot carefully get in and out of an American pickup without messing up the interior. Very disappointed, Dodge.
Next time around with seats i'm installing something totally different from another vehicle... Rant ... Rant... Rant...

2002 had the best seats IMO. I grew tired of trying to keep my 06 cloth clean so I bought a set of Wet Okole, the padding does help some, but I don't know if they'll last very long due to the edge of the seat being sharp.

Logon to this site: www.marathonseatcovers.com. They'll make you a set of indestructable, comfortable seat covers for your existing stock ones. They'll send fabric samples to your house for a real trial. Extra padding is available and pockets for the front and back of seats. I had them on my last two vehicles and this one from week three.

The covers are not really the underlying problem. The side foam has deep groove in it's underside which makes the whole side section want to separate from the main part of the foam you sit on. Sliding off the seat will cause the foam to separate and the support on the side of the seat cushion will be lost. Mine was over 1-1/2 inchs low due to internal foam breakdown.
There is a very sharp piece of sheetmetal sticking straight up in the area where the seat cushion meets the back cushion on the seating surface. It is where the seatback hinges to recline. It will slice right through the factory cover and start a big rip that will just continue.
If you go the seatcover route I suggest inserting carpet or some tough material in that area to protect the new cover from the inevitable. The installer did that to mine and after everything was reassembled I can now feel the carpet over that sharp edge.
Some have fitted the SRT10 seats but I don't know how different they are or what other mods are needed to make them work.
An upolstery shop can recover any type of seat to match the back seats for reasonable cost. I had some basic 8 way Recaros (standard in a Porsche I had) that were very firm and comfortable. That would be my choice for a conversion. Buy used that needs some repair to the cover get the seat dirt cheap and have the upolstery shop recover to match the rear. Of course the power wiring would need adapted.
