I had my drivers door window replaced recently.
It is a factory issue, the glass, which is delivered from the factory is laminate, the hardware inside the door is for the thicker glass glass, the parts do not match up well and crack the laminate glass. I am only repeating what the service manager explained to me. It should be covered.
Good luck.
Also I brought in all the much info that I could find on this site with me and gave it to the service manager. He appriciated the info.

Well, they will not honor the glass repair. The Regional Rep. for DC doesnt want to take part in getting this taken care of. Even though there is a know issue.

Any help will be appreciated.

i had an 06 mega cab 1500 and the rear pass. window cracked. took it in and the dealer gave me some line about how he could see exactly where a rock hit. i took it to the window place the dealer recomended and the guy there, who was really cool, told me that it should be covered by warranty.

Cracked windows

Passenger side front cracked last night. Took it to the dealer, they snapped a picture and sent it to DC for approval. A few months ago my drivers side rear cracked and they replaced no problem. Would not cover the window tint though.

I had the dealer ask DC if they would cover the tint this time, we'll see.

My drivers window cracked a couple weeks ago sitting in the driveway overnight. Truck has 29K km on it, no issue with warranty coverage. The laminated glass they use is quite expensive too.

Sorry to dig up an old post, but my driver's side front window cracked tonight driving home. Does anyone have a link to the TSB for this that I can print off and take to my dealer? Thanks.

I went to the dealer before Christmas with a broken front passenger window. At first they said sorry out of warranty 52,000 miles, after I mentioned I thought I wasn't the first that this happened to the Service Manager finally said they would cover it but I would have to pay $100.00 deductable

this sure isn't a automatic warranty although it should be. Same thing happen to my passenger door window. I first went to the deal I purchased the truck from and was turned down. ( they are a mod family dealer too ! ) Then I went to my local dealer and was turned down. Keep in mind my truck has 15K on it. Then I called D/C. They offered to look into it. A few days later they called to tell me they won't cover it.

So before almost just going out and buying a window I decided to try one more place. It's a dealership in GA and the service/parts manager hang out on a forum. He had the warranty approved within 10mins.

The morale here is... don't give up and just pay yourself. Dealers and D/C will do as much as they can to NOT pay for a otem that should be warrantied.

The problem with the window is.... it's on a metal track, it rolls into the frame of the door into nothing but metal and there is no limit switch to prevent the window from rolling up too far.

I've got into the habit of rolling up the windows and then bumping them down a hair to relieve the stress. D/C is fully aware of this issue but, will likely never do anything about it.

this is really weird, cuz i work in the glass buissness and those windows should not spider like that, they should be tempered glass and should just shatter at any breaking point, sounds like they were using ANEALED LAMI style glass on the 06 and up, which is same thing as your windsheild. i got mine broke into this year(tempered is a mess to clean), they broke my rear door glass and it was 132 installed at speedys with no insurance.
