color matched line-x
#19
I'm a LINE-X dealer in Fort Worth.
Xtra is not available in colors yet. The color match is done by spraying a pigmented bedliner (not black) that is close to the actual color. Then, Dupont Nason paint is sprayed onto the bedliner. Nason is a urethane based automotive paint and actually bonds to LINE-X. It's glossy and won't fade. I also have pics on my site: www.linexfortworthtexas.com
You should know that not all LINE-X dealers offer color matches via Nason.
The tailgate access panel is not attached. You will be able to just lift it off if you ever need to.
Here's a red color match from our shop:

Like I said, Xtra is just coming out now from what I read over on the TDR website a while ago. I am pretty sure that some Line-X dealers have been testing the Xtra with colors. Probably not available countrywide yet.

LINE-X cannot be applied to chrome.
Xtra is only currently available in black. Xtra is SUPPOSED to be available in colors around the first of 2006. If there's any testing being done, it will be in California only. You can read about Xtra on my website (www.linexfortworthtexas.com)
Again, exact LINE-X color matches can be achieved using Dupont Nason paint.

I'll sure do what I can for you if your really interested!!
BTW, LINE-X is raising their prices to dealers on 1-1-06. Bedliner products are petroleum based so I'm expecting a pretty good hit to prices. Keep in mind that all bedliner brands will eventually be affected. You can thank your favorite Sheik.
Next week, I have a customer bringing in a Bronco, the entire exterior will be LINE-X'd in red (with Nason).
Below is a pic of a Cherokee we LINE-X'd in red and black (with Nason).
Before pic, fender flares removed, partially prepped: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../cherokee1.jpg

Personnally I like the contrast of the black with my bright silver, but I must say that that really looks good. Had it been available I might have gone that route.
The dealer I used had a book of photos of things they did and they had a Nissan or Toyota with a canopy that they had sprayed. Everything was done in black LineX except of course the glass. Looked interesting. I checked on getting the rocker panels done and the guy said something like $2200-$2500 due to all the prep and fittings around the doors. Don't know if it would cost that at every dealer or if he just really didn't want to do it.
