Got it today. I'm happy with how it turned out.

That looks terrific. Can you still remove the tailgate panel after they get done? I see that the screws are not sprayed over.

I imagine so. Worst case I might have to pry a little bit but from what I can see they took pretty good care to get in and around all the bits without getting where they shouldn't have. I'd like to know how they can spray it between the cab and bed and get it so perfect.

Looks great! Was that done with the new Dupont additive that they just starting using? It's supposed to make the color matching almost guaranteed to last forever. (Very little fading.)

The local Line-X dealer in my area was doing all he could to talk me out of the color topcoat. Claimed it would just chip and end up look terrible because the black would show through. I know the Line-X dealer in the DFW area has been coloring for some time now with good results. I really can't decide on which way to go. I want the color.

I really like the Ram's head Logo. I have never seen one like that before.

color

My guess on the guy talking you our of color is a matter of his convienence. My shop was next to a rhino-liner guy and he could do color, but would tell everybody it would fade compared to black. It was actually because he had to clean out the hoses etc. before and after a color job.

I like the color after seeing it. Any extra cost?

I have heard of guy's getting the rockers sprayed with linex for stone protection and wonder if anyone knows what the cost would be and how it holds up ? 30 years ago when I worked at the Ford plant I sprayed a vinyl on the bottom 8 in. of the body for rock protection and it worked well . We put it on after prime coat and before finish coat . I would think with the color mixed in it would be even better for this purpose . When I first hired in they gave me this job and after 10 hours of holding up a 3/4 hose that could with stand 3000 # preasure I would crawl home . With in a year I could do 30 one arm push ups with no problem and even some one arm chin ups but that was then ,when I was 50 lbs lighter and younger .

Good point on the clean up. I hadn't thought of that.

I went by the Line-X dealer yesterday to have my bed done. Color matched was $700, black was $385. I didn't get it done. I will be going south to get other advice.

He also said they wouldn't warranty a color match but for 1 year.

lifetime warranty for the life of the truck - no different than black.

$175 added for color. They did the logo all on their own. I didn't know it was going to be there but I had seen them on their online photo gallery.

I had my rockers sprayed with my bed it was about double what just getting the bed done. There's alot of prep work involved masking etc. I just had mine done in black (I have a black truck).

Other than slight fading mine has held up good for the last 18 months or so. Pics in my gallery.

Upon further inspection they took the tailgate access panel off and coated it so there is would be no prying and no bond between the panel and the tailgate.
