Exclamation Codes thrown... Questions

Got codes P0071 "Ambient Temperature Sensor Performance / Rationality" and P0514 "Battery Temperature Sensor Performance / Rationality".

1. Does anyone know where these sensors are located?

2. Is there a TSB for either?

Thanks in advance.

Eric

Wewlcome to the 0514 problem.

Mine threw the code twice in 11 days from purchase. First time dealer cleaned and sent me on my way. Second time they replaced sensor. No light for 10 days!!!!!

If you are under waranty, let them fix it - battery sensor is under passenger side battery. I don't know about the other code.

Hope this helps

The "Ambient Temperature Sensor" is located on top the intake. If you recently removed the intake and turned the key on, it would cause this code to activate. If the problem no longer exists, the code will clear itself in a couple of weeks.

How do you know the sensor on the top of the intake is the ambient air temp sensor (i'm not saying you are wrong)?

The reason I question that is because there is a sensor located drivers side of the intercooler and radiator. I thought that was the ambient temp sensor but I don't have the manual to look it up. Did you get the info from the shop manual?

Thanks for the help guys!

Thats the temp sensor for your overhead. It has nothing to do with the running of the engine.

The Ambient Temperature sensor is located drivers side of the intercooler and radiator. The IAT is on the intake as an input to ECM for engine. That is my take on it.
