code p0514

pulled this code up on my truck(p0514) battery temp sensor rationality. what causes this code, I have read were guys have had a new sensor and still get the code.

I got that code at about 8K miles on the truck last year. Dealer replaced that temp sensor and I've never had it since. They told me the sensor was faulty and they just replaced it.

i got the same thing last fall, it went away, never came back, so I quit thinking about it.

I forgot to ask this, I did not get any indication of it throughing a code no other lights came on. I cycled the key looking for codes for another problem and that one popped up.

I have gotten this code 4-5 times in the last 2-3 months. Sometimes it goes away in a day or two and sometimes a couple weeks. Never sets the light off. I quit worrying about it. there is some kind of glitch in the software. thats just my opinion.

Count me in as one who ignores the stupid thing. Dealer allegedly fixed it. Still goes off every once in a while.

Mine had it. I got it cleared out. It came back. I ignored it and it finally went away on it's own. Go figure.
